I happen to believe that God cries over sin. He is our Father and it does hurt when your child lies or does something wrong. He had to cry when Jesus was crucified. That's His Only Begotten Son. He also rejoiced because He knew Jesus was and is victorious over sin, satan, and hell! I believe He gave us all of His emotions and feelings, and He also smiles and laughs. But God is God first and is omnipresent and omnipotent and reigns forever and ever! Amen! He feels love and is love!

This is a good question and the answer really assists us in recognizing God as an incredibly caring and compassionate person.

He does not have tear ducts since he does not have a human physical body. Still, he is described to us in human terms (hands, eyes, etc.) so that we may understand his feelings and attitudes.

Having said that, Hebrews 1:3 teaches that Jesus is the exact representation of God's very being. Also, Jesus himself tells us at John 14:9 that "he who has seen me has seen the Father."

So even though John 1:18 plainly states that no one has seen God at any time, just by a consideration of Jesus and his responses to events, we are helped to understand God on a very personal level.

John 11:35 tells us that, in response to the death of Lazarus, Jesus gave way to tears. This is precisely how God would have responded.

Luke 7:11-15 tells us that when Jesus met the grieving widow on her way to bury her only son, verse 13 says that he was moved with pity. The Greek word rendered "moved with pity" carries the meaning of being affected to the very depth of one's soul. Vine's Expository Dictionary says it is the strongest Greek word for compassion.

As for when Jesus died, what father does not grieve, groan and cry when he loses his own son to death? Imagine, then, the pain God must have felt to have to watch his own innocent son die such a painful and ignominious death.

Yes, God "cries". For us and with us.

Jesus cried with a noisy voice and then died. This passage is a paraphrase from the Gospel of Matthew. God grew to become His head simply by fact He did not prefer to work out the collective sin that Jesus took upon Himself to be the Salvation to the international.

God is not cold-hearted. He wants us to be His Children and for us to have a Parent - Child relationship with Him.

A Parent, looking at how brothers and sisters torment each other the way we do, and ignor His calls to our conscience, is moved to tears constantly.

Jesus understood God's Heart better than anyone in history, so when Jesus cried the night before he died, it was not for human shortcoming, but because people had not shown faith in what God was doing. ("Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem. Stoning the prophets and killing those sent to you. How often I would gather you as a hen gathers her brood, but you would not.")

The first cry of anguish from God that the bible records is in Eden.
"Adam, where are you?"
God knew where Adam's body was, but his heart was wrenched away from God, and God has yearned for His children to return to Him ever since

After Lazereth died, the Bible says, "Jesus wept." So, yes, God(Jesus) did cry. As for the Father, He prefered to send Jesus the Christ to remedy the situation. YBIC

A good question. First does God have tear ducts? We are trying to understand God in human terms. Anthropormorphism. Which is ok, but I think this limits God a bit.

Remember the shortest scritpure in the Bible. "Jesus wept."

God, Jehovah , is a spirit. As such he isn't capable of physical tears. However he is very capable of grief! Yes you can grieve him seriously, and yes their putting him to death did grieve him.
One answer said Jesus wept, which is true, but when he did, he was not yet "A" God. You cannot kill a god. Jesus and Jehovah have eternal life. Even the Angels can be done away with. They do not possess eternal life.
Man can be granted eternal life if he is obedient, and remains sinless, but that is yet to come...........read your bible.Or mine.
Yes! I challenge you to prove me wrong.............

I'd like to see someone try to prove in the Bible God cries. However Israel broke His heart & Satan pissed God off enough to get cast out of Heaven.

My final answer is no mention of crying.
