Fleas do not like humans and will not stay on humans. Humans aren't an appropriate host for fleas so there is no need to worry.
Make sure to treat your cats with a safe flea preventative from your vet.Do NOT use any OTC flea product..they are ineffective and can be very dangerous to your cat. They can cause some very serious burns on the skin, neurological issues, seizures and death.
You can also get a safe product from your vet to treat your house.

Have a shower and scrub hard. Also treat your cats for fleas and spray your house with flea killer. It may take a few weeks to get the fleas under control. Also figure out where the fleas came from (outside or from another animal in the building) so you can prevent any further infestations. If the fleas on your cats are left untreated your cats may eat the fleas and get worms, so it is best to take care of all this ASAP.

Fleas do not live on humans! They bite (take a blood meal) and leave to lay eggs on your carpet, upholstered furniture, cracks between boards, your cats fur, etc. etc. New fleas hatch when conditions are suitable (could be next month or next year) and the whole cycle starts over.
To eliminate fleas you need to treat your cats (and use a monthly product religiously), thoroughly vacuum your house and get it professionally exterminated. Professional exterminators use chemicals not generally available to the public. They apply a "knock down" and a residual that takes care of newly hatching eggs. If you skip any of the steps I've indicated, you're in for an infestation in the future.

Get flea shampoo your cats won't like it but give them a flea bath. I have one son who is very hairy and he has dogs and he used the flea shampoo on his arms and legs as well as on his head. LOL. get your cats flea color's after the flea shampoo if the fleas are very bad they may need a dip. Go to a pet supply store. You won't need the dip the shampoo will work just fine.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

a shower should do it but if your cats have fleas they need to be defleaed and so does you house- otherwise new fleas will come on you after your shower.
(unless what you think are fleas in your hair are really lice, in which case a shower just wont do... you need medicated shampoo)

They wont live on you but they will bite you. You need to treat the cat or it will never end. Frontline plus will do the trick. Thoroughly vacuum your house as well and toss out the bag when you are done.
