Don't be frightened of having it done. You will be in a 'foetal' position, and the Doctor will put an index finger in and feel around.
It is going to be somewhat uncomfortable, but it must be necessary. The Doctor will use lubricant on the fingers to make it a bit easier.
Good Luck!

Are you talking about a colonoscopy?? That won't hurt.. Rectal exams like that don't hurt..they might be somewhat uncomfortable from maybe pressure and slight cramping..but not real pain..These exams are usually given useing thin tubes and you'll probably be on your left side or right . If you are talking about a colonoscopy..i can tell you all about that one cause I just had one. No pain at all.If it's a digital exam..the doc will insert a lubricatd, gloved finger and fel around...no pain..just embarassment. Most of these are done in fetal position.

convinced pal, yet no longer always. some circumstances it hurts in the course of the digital rectal exam. ***position : -a guy is oftentimes examined even as he stands, bending ahead on the waist. a guy can be examined even as mendacity on his left aspect, which includes his knees bent in route of his chest. -a woman is oftentimes examined even as mendacity on her back on an exam table, which includes her ft raised and supported by using stirrups. A rectovaginal exam is oftentimes achieved for females so as that organs in the pelvic section will be evaluated. ***disadvantages: mild bleeding from the rectum would take position after an exam, noticeably if hemorrhoids or a breaks in the floor around the anus (anal fissures) are modern-day. On "very very uncommon" events, some would adventure a lack of information (referred to as vasovagal syncope) because of outrage or discomfort even as your doctor inserts a finger into the rectum. it is more suitable undemanding in status up posture. ---- Be mentally prepared for it. best of success ...!

No it will not hurt .Have had one no pain. They will give you a drug that will knock you out. listen to someone who has had one and I know plenty of people who have had one and they said it was a piece of cake. If it hurts then they better examine what was going inside them I wasn't no finger or scope i bet. They should look and see if the doc was smiling

They usually use one finger.. It is uncomfortable, but most doctors lubricate their finger, and it really doesn't take that long. You will be on your back, legs in the stirrup. They understand that you are nervous and are quite understand. Don't be afraid.
