I want to use up the last of my porridge oats,I don't really like as cereal,I am bored of making flapjack with it,anyone have any nice recipes.

Savoury Porridge

Ingredients:
1/4 cup porridge oats
1-2 egg white
1/4 cup spinach
2 tablespoons nonfat cottage cheese
2 cherry tomatoes, quartered

Cook the oats in a egg white/water mix the way you would with plain water.
Take off the heat and stir in spinach and quartered cherry tomato's, top with cheese and some pepper and parsley if you so wish.
Microwave untill hot and cheese is gooey.
Serve immediately.

Make an apple crumble but use the oats as a topping instead of bread crumbs. Stick with the porridge and add a teaspoon full of honey while cooking. Or add half a sliced banana to the mixture while waiting for it to cool. Also you will like porridge better if you make it 1 part Salisbury's oats, with the purple top packet, 2 parts skimmed milk and one part water.

gently fry the oats in a little butter til lightly brown then add milk with quite a bit of sugar it tastes more like a pud than a cereal and is yum!

Have you ever tried apple crumble, making the crumble with oats added?? ohh its so nice, I just made it last night for dessert.

You need (for the base)
Cooking apples peeled
Sugar

For the crumble
Flour
butter
brown sugar
oats

when making a fruit crumble, add smoeprridgeoatsto thecrumble mix, its lovely and makes a nice crunchy topping

why not have it as a cereal but cut up some fresh fruit with it and eat it like that
