I think there are evil people out there trying to destroy people who are good.
That is why bad things happen to good people.
If your theory was correct, then it would imply that every bad thing that happens to someone would mean that the person deserved it.
I don't ascribe to that theory.
Your theory does not explain why innocent children are victimized, hungry and cruelly treated.

The word Karma means volitional action.
There are two types of action, skillful and unskillful. Skillful action brings good results, unskillful brings bad.
If something unpleasant is happening to me right now it may be useful for me to consider my past actions. Is there something for me to learn from what's going on here? (Note that I say 'may'. It may be that something bad is just happening).
What I do in this moment, skillful or unskillful, will affect my future. So it behoves me to take care of my actions right now.
An essential part of the understanding of Karma is the concept of rebirth. If you believe that you only live once then Karma becomes a monstrous, cruel idea. It can take several lifetimes before the results of a particular piece of Karma are worked out. This may explain why the innocent are seen to suffer.
Another essential word is Karuna. It means compassion, and it is essential to the Buddhist life.
I may well want to consider my past actions when confronted with a problem, but it is not for me to talk about that to someone else. If another is suffering it is for me to try to help, to be kind, to be compassionate, not to say, 'Well, it's all your own fault! It's Karma'.
Being judgemental is an action - and a pretty unskillful one. So in being kind to someone else I'm also being compassionate to myself.
I realise that many people don't like the idea of Karma and I wouldn't dream of trying to convince them that I'm right. It's what I believe. So I'm not trying to preach here, just to explain what Karma is as I understand it having been a practising Buddhist for many years.

It's a comforting thought, but I believe that if we are kind, we may be treated kindly ourselves in this life. if we are bad, we may suffer the consequences. Of course, this is not absolute: bad people have a nice life sometimes and good people suffer sometimes.
The only hope for true justice for all mankind is God's kingdom. To find further information, look at this web site. you can even request a free home Bible study or just a visit to have further scruptural explanations face to face.

Yes I do. Karma is the outcome of not only your deeds but your ancestors as well, we take on our genes from them and their good or bad with us. We are all energy and if you give off good vibes you get them back plus what other good people are giving you, If you send out good vibes and others give you bad vibes all you will get is good back because you are sending good out.
If however you send out bad vibes like a magnet bad vibes come back yours plus others as well, so you get a double dose of bad vibes.

I believe in the truth, not Karma. Is Karma like fate? I don't think its nesissarily true that if you do good to others, it will come back to you. I find that when I build people up, after awhile they start thinking they are better than you, and start sh tting on you, or take advantage of your good graces. But I can't change how I am.

Some of it is vibes, but whatever you intentionally put out there will come back to you exactly how you imagine it. Intention and being deliberate is the key. Read up on "The Law of Attraction". It's amazing.

As far as Kharma, I don't know. I do believe that it rains on the just, as well as the unjust. I believe, however, that rewards for being good to others are given, so long as you do not do good things solely to be rewarded for your deed. Further, I believe that people who treat others badly typically get that in return, however, there are some people who are so wicked inside that the bad things that happen to them are so much a part of their daily life that it doesn't bother them.
All of that aside... certainly, if there is a God (which I believe there is), then those of us who do good unto others simply for the sake of doing good things, will get rewarded for it, either in this life, the next life, or the afterlife. Also, those that do bad are similarly punished. If you believe in reincarnation, maybe evil people who are mean to, say dogs..., come back as a fire hydrant in the city as their next incarnation! :-D

i believe in karma...utterly...it has been proven to me countless times...it may take years, if not longer, to come back round, but it will...and i think it is a little of both...good vibes, which bring good friends cos decent people pick up on good vibes, and some good karma coming back round..and for the record...mine is intact...i may have been no angel...no demon either...the good outweighs the bad...x
ps...great question

Some people more than others. Anytime I do anything that would be considered inconsiderate, or mean, I get mine. I have to make it a point to be sweet and considerate or face the wrath of karma.
