The world's first airplane crash did involve one of the Wright Brothers indeed; Orville to be exact.

Orville and an Army officer, Lt. Thomas E. Seldridge took off around 5 PM on Sept. 10, 1908 in an aircraft designed and built by the Wright Brothers with intentions to sell to the Army. With over 2000 people watching from the ground, Orville flew the plane over the parade ground at Ft. Myers, Virginia and successfully circled the ground three times before a stress failure in the propeller caused the airplane to plunge to the ground, seriously injured both men.

The men were taken to a local hospital where Lt. Seldridge later died from his injuries, a fractured skull. Orville Wright eventually recovered but suffered the rest of his life with pains from his fractured hip.

I would say they all crashed until the inventors finally found one that worked. They were crashed before they were invented/perfected.

Are you referring to a commercial jetliner?
