British Telecom have a Telephone Preference service. Call 08450700707 and follow the prompts. It takes 28 days to become fully effective but, it really does work. I care for an older gentleman who was getting anything up to 12 Telemarket calls a day. He called the number and doesn't get any now.

NEVER tell them to take off their list they will just add you another list. and sell it. ALSO DO NOT ENTER ANY CONTESTS AT THE MALL OR ANYWHERE FOR A FREE CAR OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. Because when you sign at the bottom you will give them permission to call you. Also in the mouse print at the bottom it may remove from the do not call list. Remember telemarketing companies are low life's. They would crawl over their dead mother to sell you something.

I only have a cell phone. Telemarketers do not solicit over cell phones. However, there are exceptions. I bought a rubber broom of the television. They took my cell number an began calling me. I asked for the supervisor and told him. That solved the problem.

I usually pick up the phone and let them start into their speech and they ALWAYS ask questions looking for a yes answer. i keep answering their questions, yes, then at weird intervals in their conversation i will interject a "YES" then a "YES YES YES, come on baby give me some more", then some heavy panting into the phone. The telemarketer usually hangs right up since they think they interrupted you "doing it".

Call the number for the Do Not Call list and add your name and phone number to that list.
If a telemarketer calls, tell them "I am on the Do Not Call list." They have to leave you alone then, or they may have to pay you for calling you.

My brother and his wife had the phone removed from the house and they just use their cell phones, no more telemarketers.

Invest in caller ID and if it's an 800, 888, or 0000000000 number showing up then don't answer the phone.

after you get on the no call list and continue to hear from them, do this: When they ask for someone, say "one minute please" and put the phone down. A few minutes later go hang up. You will have saved another person form the call and frustrated the caller.

There is a website you can go to and type in your phone number for the "do not call list".
