I was talking to a coworker who went out and had a good time. He then mentioned taking his niece out when I mentioned going out dancing. Is she damaged goods or why did he offer his niece of all people?

Perhaps he just felt that you nature and his neice's nature is quite similar. Going out dancing doesn't mean that you are going to marry her. Or may be his neice is quite lonely and he wants to find a friend for her. But if you are having doubts, just ask him that does he think his neice will be ready for blind date and will she accept his request and why does he think that she will enjoy with you or vice versa. Perhaps that will throw more light on how he thought about offering her to you.

Damaged goods gee what an old awful term!!. Hopefully the uncle thought more of her like a nice lass who like to go out dancing and would be safe with a work friend. Change your tune or you will dance alone for a long time..................

He probably just sees you as a good person and/or a good 'fit' with his neice. It doesn't mean she's damaged goods, unless of course he sees you as the same thing.

Maybe because she is single and likes dancing? Why do friends offer friends?!

I would be careful of that. You could get involved in something that will change your personal life and your life at your job. I would weigh your options.
