At 39 years of age and very healthy, I've learned that the more natrual the food, the healthier it is for you. Nothing is perfect and nearly every food is processed somehow by man. Now imagine if you grew your own food and raise your own meat. You will live healthier than your peers. I do believe grains are very healthy, they are light on the stomach and have less complications than more fatty foods. Go for it girl!

Fiber, Fiber, Fiber! Just eat small portions of whole grains. I eat no more that the size of my palm (minus my fingers) for one serving. Triscuits, Wheat thins and honey whole grain breads are easy to start with if you don't perfer the taste at first. No white starches are good for you, unless you eat a plain baked potato with nothing on it. They are simple starches and go right where fat is stored. Whole grains are complex and break down in the digestive system a lot easier so you get the nutrition out of them that your body can use. You could also try whole grain, whole wheat pastas, although most people have to acquire a taste for them. Just remember that small amounts of exercise will help you weigh less as well. It is hard to eat right and excercise at the same time, but making small changes like switching whites to whole grains helps a lot. You must have grains. They are essential to life. I hope this information helps!

Whole grains fill you up faster than most other foods, So you eat less and it has fewer calories. So while NOT ALL people who eat whole grains will weigh less, those who eat whole grains as well as eating other healthy foods will weigh less. If you want to lose weight, its all about calories, stay under 1500 calories per day and you will lose weight. Good luck

There isn't an absolute when it comes to your diet and how much you weight, unless you eat excessive amounts.
What grains do is contain a lot of fiber, and fiber helps your body with better digestion and eventually, your bowel movements.
So, more grains and fibers HELP, but it isn't the gospel to weighing less.
