I have been riding western for 6 years I and I have never learned how to calf rope like the pros do at the rodeo. What rope do they use, how can you get it, and how do you spin, wind up and throw the rope?

Coordination & PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!!
The ropes that are used depends upon the roping sport you choose. Calf Roping requires a soft more limber rope than a team roper header or heeler. They also need a piggin' string to tie the calf's legs. Go online to find ropes & other roping supplies. Just remember also that the pros have VERY VERY VERY well trained & seasoned horses. When roping, the horse is a HUGE part of the team.
Do you have any calf or team ropers in your area that you could ask to help teach you??? Your best bet would be to do that so they can start you out on ground work. Once you get the coordination down on handling the rope & throwing it then you can work up to riding & roping. Find someone in your area to help. Be prepared for endless practice. Most ropers are constantly fine turning their rope handling skills.
Good Luck to you.....

Youll have 2 have someone show you. Buy a rope from a tack shop, practice on the ground, then work your way to riding and roping. It takes time!

I can not tell you much on how to rope but you should be able to buy a rope at any tack store. The rope you need has rossin on it making it very stiff.
