Brine Shrimp!
The brine shrimp, Artemia, belongs to the phylum Arthropoda (joint-legged invertebrates), class Crustacea (shrimp, crab, lobster). There are several species of Artemia worldwide; Artemia franciscana is the species living in Great Salt Lake (and also in San Francisco Bay). Brine shrimp live in hypersaline lakes in which the salt content may be 25%, predators and competitors are few, and algal production is high.
several forms of algae too!
However, the fresh- and salt-water wetlands along the eastern and northern edges of the Great Salt Lake provide critical habitat for millions of migratory shorebirds and waterfowl in western North America.

What do you mean by "thing'? Micro-organisms are always present in a body of water, so I feel this is the best answer to your question. If you mean something that you can see/ or classify as an animal, then I would say brine shrimp
