Cats will do that if they are stressed, there has been a recent change in food, or if the cat is dirty, ot has fleas
Check the cats coat for fleas, if this is the case have the cat trated as well as you home to get rid of the fleas.
Food is simple slowly change the cat back to the old brand.
If she is dirty have her groomed
If the cat is stressed out, it would be due to a major change of environment. Like a recent move, a change in people. Even moving around furniture will stress out some cats. Give her lots of attention. If she keeps it up and the cat develops sores, or licks her fur off take her to the vet. The vet may put her on some tranquilizers and give you an ointment for the skin.
IT is important to get this taken care of an have the cat adjusted, constant cleaning can lead to skin infections which can be very harmful to the cat.

If the cat cleans around their genitals A LOT this can be a sign of a Urinary Tract Infection so it may need to see a vet. It could be fleas or ticks also so you may want to do a flea and tick treatment of the cat and your house. If you seea vet I am sure they could give you an idea of what to do. Good luck

It could be a number of things but the most common is that the cat is stressed over something new or some trauma. Have the vet check her to make sure it is nothing medical.

She might be under more stress. Have changed something in her environment? Taken her to a new place to live? Stress can make cats groom until they go bald in the spot they are grooming to much. I have 3 cats. If I change anything in their play house, one always reacts this way.

She may have fleas or be stressed. Look for patches of missing fur and if she has any, take her to the vet.

That's usually a sign of fleas. If not, she is probably just particular about her "do". :) I have a male medium-hair kitty that bathes and bathes. He takes it very seriously.
