What are the two sides(?) of this issue?

The planet is getting warmer, and this will affect human life-styles. Some people are achieving fame and wealth by blaming human activity, and some governments are using it as an issue to levy new taxes. But there are serious doubts as to whether humans can do much to alter the situation, as it seems to be a normal part of a cycle of global warming and cooling that has gone on since the earth was formed. This cycle seems to be related to warming and cooling of the surface of the Sun, and there is nothing that we can do about that. It may be that human activity is contributing something to the rate of warming - and here the popular culprit is carbon emissions. The answer to this is suggested as curtailing transport, especially cars. Sadly transport is not the greatest cause of carbon emissions - a recent United Nations report pointed out that agricultural use, especially the burning of tropical forests, creates more carbon in the atmosphere than ALL forms of transport. Further, with China opening a new coal fired power station every three weeks, any transportation cuts made by other countries will be overwhelmed. Other studies conclusively show that carbon is not the most serious "green-house" gas - Methane is. The major sources of methane are grazing livestock when they break wind and the paddy-fields of Southern Asia. Beyond that, water vapour has a greater "green-house" effect than either. In the end we would do best to accept that global warming will happen -and devise ways to adapt to that fact - bearing in mind that it will be followed by global cooling. Certainly some regions will become less able to support human societies - but others, especially in the far north, will become more human friendly. In earlier warm periods, for example, arctic tundra would have been cultivatable. Do not panic about the scare stories that are peddled by interested parties - remember that government "green" taxes and initiatives are driven more by a need for more taxation revenue than any informed concern for the planet.

global warming is quite controversial because they are experts which believe that it is happening and they are people not buying it.
the reason why they believe that global warming is just an false alarm because they are climatologist ( a few) that believe that the rise and fall of temperature is a normal cycle.there are evidence too..like the present of ice age in the past few billions years.
that's what they said...but i believe and also what Dr.Stephen hawkings had said that human will be extinct in one thousand years due to global warming and environmental destruction...the man is smart and wise....
there are aslo some undenialbe proof and evidences...from the environment it self....hotter summer..the temperature of summer in europe which actually let crops wield and people die because of the heat waves. it had happen before but it was never so bad.besides hotter summer..there's also warmer winter.
americans had reduced the use of heater in the previous winter.
what are these? you tell me..and you decide it for yourself..
but i believe it's global warming back by solid evidences

Global warming is just another new word we have learened in the past few years. This earth is millions of years old and has gone thru thousands of life cycles. I do not think a few studies over what has happened in this century has a thing to do with the so called new word "global warming"!

Basically should we worry about it or not. Some argue that it is because of global warming that is causing the polar ice caps to melt at a faster rate. But don't worry about it, it isn't real. It's just a big marketing ploy that environmentalist use to scare people into taking better care of their planet. If you want to learn more, I imagine that Manbearpig's "An inconvenient truth" would be a good source. I'm super cereal.

there are two sides to everything, even if it comes down to perspective. global warming is occurring, but the causes are still being debated.
