my baby will not let anyone hold him,ever since he was a very young. he just hates people,he wont let anyone hold him or even look at him .he'll scream and cry and get very upset. even his grand parents cant even look at him .he just holds onto me as if his life depended on it. we cant even go shopping to the supermarket.hes just afraid of people. how can i get him out of this phase.

he has plenty of toys and has no problems with small children.just adults.

we have tried every distracion under the sun. his crying gets so bad that its as if he hyperventilates.

Sounds like lack of exposure to strangers at a young age. I know it sounds mean but kinda force the issue of strangers with him. I was told that there is a certain age where kids learn about strangers and such and the more exposure to strangers the less they will be afraid. Its another one of those learned behaviors i was told.

Your baby clearly favors his mommy! There is nothing wrong with that, and all babies go through separation anxiety as well as separation anxiety. You should go out an leave him with his grandparents or a babysitter a few times a month - he will get used to other people.

You might want to take him to the doctor or a child psycologist. These can be early signs of autism. Go make sure it's not a major problem!

whenever he starts crying try to distract his mind by showing him something else like toys, chocolates or may be something attractive
