starting from where?
flying to India from?
if you are flying to India from Britain and coming back to Britain via New Zealand it is not a one way fare.
It also depends on the months on which you wish to travel and the airline.

You'd probably be better getting a round the world ticket - and lets face it India - New Zealand (nice) - England is about as round the world as it gets! when the missus did a round the world trip she paid about £1200 for hers in 2002.

depends on the time of year, have a long hard look at brochures before you take the plunge, e.g. Get mixed up with Christmas travellors and pay through the nose

Most times a one way is more expensive than a return. Just book a return and don't show up.

What country are you leaving from? It depends where you are originating.
Sometimes works out cheaper/better value to buy a return ticket
