I have had arguments with other people in my school who are Christian that think "over time" the rules don't really apply, for example: Christians can be gay/lesbian.

I don't want to sound fanatic or anything but i actually brought my bible into school to show them and i actually asked them to give me the chapter and verse of the bible where it says that over time these rules don't have to be applied. Obviously they didn't find it and i won my case but i mean..c'mon what makes people think that?

Whats your opinion?

Thanks and God bless..x

I agree with you (here come the thumbs down).

People want to do what is in their evil, selfish nature to do, so they will try to pervert and twist the word of God so that they can "get away" with it.

It's really sad when you realize that one of the top causes of death for homosexual males is rectal cancer...not to mention AIDS and suicide, their behavior is killing them and still they don't see...
It's almost like people fighting to stay on board a sinking ship...

And then they will call us bigots and hate mongers and intolerant when all we want to do is see their souls saved and their lives improved.
*SIGH*

If you are a christian show me where Jesus said anything like you cannot be Gay or Lesbian Jesus said that the rules in the Old Testament are out dated, I gave up on Religion years ago because of hatefull people like you but the verse goes something to the effect of " You rules tell you an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth I m here to tell you to turn the other cheek. In the old testament where it talks about laying down with anoither man the next verse tells you to kill your child if he talks back to you. Do Christians pratice this also or just the rules that let them exclude people and make them feel morally supierior? The only other place that talks about Gays is after Jesus is gone and the Apostles start to turn back to anger in their writings instead of the love a Jesus talked about. The apostles just tied to write what they thought was right. Just like modern day preists and mininster they too made mistakes.

That's all fine and good, but you need to realize that Christians don't follow all the rules in the bible today. No Christians do. The same book in the old testament that speaks of homosexuality being a sin (Leviticus), also says that you must stone disobedient children to death, it's sinful to eat shellfish like, shrimp, lobster, crab, etc., It's unholy to wear an article of clothing made of more than one type of fabric, and the list goes on.

The bible mentions these other sins far more often than it mentions homosexuality, yet the majority of Christians like to use the Homosexuality sin as a weapon to prevent gays from being Christians, and to promote hatred and violence towards them. I think that more Christians need to read the teachings of Jesus, about love and compassion, rather then the outdated Leviticus laws.

I would say twisting and even excluding is the belief on any issue concerning the commandments. In a nutshell people have free will. It also has to do with the enablers of said thinking/belief and the money that is made off of individuals who exercise disbelief.
There are those that chose to live the lifestyle and those who push people along.

You are correct,The Word of God never changes, Repetition is the oldest form of brain washing...Satan uses time and repetition to brain wash people into giving in to his lies, why do you think they keep playing the same rock and roll songs on the radio for the last 40 years? repetition makes you accept things through time that you know are wrong . Some are going to say The bible uses repetition too...this is correct but repetition can also be used for good as well as bad. Learn the Word of God and don't be deceived by the repetitions of this world. If We don't know Our history...We are doomed to repeat it. world leaders have been doing the same things to us over and over again since the beginning of mankind, just look back and see for your selves. Weather You believe in a God or not...this fact is true.

They want to justify their evil ways and use the Commandments being done away with as an excuse. The Word of God states that there will come a falling away from God and His Word, and that time is NOW in today's world. It is also called Spiritual Ignorance and Blindness. They are given over to a reprobate mind, and lovers of themselves, and leave God out of everything in their lives. Do not judge or worry about it my friend, the Day is coming soon, and they will see their mistakes, and we should pray that they do see them before it is too late. Let's keep sowing the Spiritual Seeds of the Word of God, and let God take care of the rest. We will have done our job, and only God can nurture them. They choose to accept Him or reject Him, it's their choice, and what happens is their own fault, and they cannot blame no one but themself.

The commandments cannot be twisted whatsoever. They were literally written in stone. It is also written that man is born of sin and will sin. I'm not saying you should break them or that its ok to do it. We will all break some of them, we can't help it.

What has caused people to disregard the bible and the commandments is the teaching of evolution in schools.

Well my take is they often believe what they want to believe. If something doesn';t suit them then they rationalise it to suit their own situation

.However, you must also take into account that common law in some countries has legalized it and allows it to exist. So it doesn't matter what the Bible says, it is only a guide you can use to live the good clean life if you chose to do so.

As we move on in time, people feel that the teachings can not be true as our lives today are about facts and not about fiction.....This is my belief that people cant imagine that this could be true, the stories in the bible....

There are two types of people....... Those who change the Bible to fit their lifestyles, and those who change their lifestyles to fit the Bible. Reflect on that.
