Sydney has the harbour bridge, opera house and is generally a lovely place to visit. Try to visit the surrounding areas as they are beautiful and not so busy.
Brisbane is the best! Fraser island is awesome. Visit Mt Cootha (espaecially at night). Take the River cats (like a ferry but very fast) along the river. Brisbane has some great shopping too.
Another option - Come and stay with my family and me. We live north of Sydney. Free accomodation and transport (just chip in for food). I can pick you up from Sydney and show you around the place. We live right on the beach and there is a lot to see and do. Let me know what you think!

Seeing that I lived in Woomera S. Australia for over a year I would recommend taking the train across the continent. You can sleep and eat on the train! Maybe by now they have a pass that you can get off the train and different places and board again on a later date----I would stay away from tour companies and charter things---BORING----do your travels with a rental car that way you can go and see what ever you want.
Ayers Rocks is phenomenal----Nothing more magnificient! It's amazing how when the sun hits that rock just right it glows red.
Even visiting aboriginal reservations and visiting with the people is interesting.
Have fun---and you should be able to see everything on a shoestring budget if you plan carefully enough! Camping out might help to with the expenses!

From Brisbane think about getting up to Fraser Island - world heritage listed - and absolutely amazing and varied. It is about 4 hours by car north of Brisbane. If she can't make it up to there think about Stradbroke Island (Both are sand islands).
From Cairns try going North to Cape Tribulation or Cook town, or head to the hinterland - Atherton Tablelands, Kuranda (by train up and sky rail back down), Chillagoe caves are something different and off the beaten path. Don't miss the Great Barrier Reef - I have been out with "quicksilver tours" a few times from Port Douglas and found them to be very good. Dunk Island, hinchinbrook Island and Lizard Island are all interesting - depending what you are looking for.
Hope that helps with some ideas.

hi, those are my 3 properly options.(in case you may have sufficient money it): a million-Australia, the excellent barrier reef is so astounding, and the wasteland and tribes are fairly interesting, also astounding seashores. The Sydney bridge adventure is scary yet mind-blowing. -Australia is both present day; and organic wonders. Its nicer in the summer time notwithstanding. (and that i'd keep Canberra ACT off the record, its form of uninteresting) 2-Egypt, the historic monuments are stunning. And the lots of the folk(except for the folk attempting to promote issues next to the pyramids), astounding nutrition, except somewhat dodgy in small shops, i advise ingesting the position the truly Egyptians devour, more low-cost and yummier:-) -Egypt is more suitable of an section in case you want historic previous, and warm temperature. 3- long island, noticeably customary to characteristic this, yet there is only a lot to be sure, from the Empire state progression to Macy's and Century 21. From Broadway shows to concepts-blowing music and dance golf equipment. and evidently the statue of liberty:-) -long island is more suitable of a present day position, i'd advise moving into wintry climate, in pleasing even as it snows! long island and Egypt are both large, notwithstanding it concerns in the experience that your more suitable attracted to historic previous and custom(Egypt) or partiesshows, procuring and skyscrapers (long island). difficulty-free methods to address money, is to stay someplace lower priced and devour cost effectively in case you are able to. also i'd ask my moms and dads to chip in. in case you want to bypass to all of those places, i'd also advise waiting somewhat longer, saving up a lot more suitable, per chance get yet another pastime! you should deliver all of your necessities and do not %. on the only excellent minute because you'll likely finally end up forgetting some thing significant. commence packing about per week earlier you go away. i wish this allows, and characteristic a lot of relaxing :-P playstation . there's a lot more suitable wonderful places yet those are my properly 3 so as.

I really think it would be worth her while to spend some time in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. The most popular town in this area and one of my favourite places in the world is Byron Bay. Some other places around here include Mt Warning, Nimbin, Mullumbimby,Kingscliffe etc. This area has something for everyone and is one of the most relaxed places on earth.
