It's not recommended, but possible. But you have a tricky situation. You are not going to be able to get a lighter color with using hair dye. Color will not lift color to a lighter level. I recommend going to a professional and getting your hair highlighted with bleach and put a toner over your highlights.
This will make it lighter.

Your hair is undoubtedly healthy, but the dye from the first dye-job is still present in your hair. Wash your hair a few times over the next couple of days, and THEN go through the second dying - the risk of having the two dyes interact unpredictably is much smaller.

i had a mishap a few weeks ago myself, my hair went red and it was supposed to be light brown, i dyed it 6 times in 2 days, i still have a full head of hair, in lovely condition and finally it`s the colour i wanted! so yes, i`d say that it`d be ok.

from experience yes, but dont use a red base colour on your next dye, eg no golden tones etc an ash colour will cancel out the red well.

Yes You Can!!! I have before and nothing happends like it doesent fall of or anything but after you do, use a lot of treatments for your hair so it gets as healthy as it can!!

i think as long as its the same colour but light its ok , but if its a totally different colour i think u will damage it
