any kind of strenuous excersise actually causes the body to shut down the digestive system to create more blood flow to the muscles doing work. this is why if you eat a meal before going for a run you'll get stomach cramps.

if you are looking to gain muscle mass i have read that it is good to eat a high protein source about half an hour after a workout, as this is when the body starts asking for protein for muscle growth. eat a large meal about 4 hours before doing any intense cardio work and if you are a tad hungry, something easily digestable and small like a banana can be eaten before the workout with minimal risk of cramp.

Nope... you feel bloated and you could possibly be sick. The best times to exercise are in the morning and before you have your tea. This burns off the calories before you eat something so it's just the same as exercising afterwards. If you get a bit peckish and feel like you don't have the exercise, eat a wholegrain bar. Keep it up!

Here' s a little guide a personal trainer told me,

Exercise two hours before eating, and eat an hour after exercising. Otherwise your hard effort will be wasted.

Absolutely not! You will cramp up! Your body needs time to digest properly. Proper digestion does not occur while the body is under strain.
