Acquire wisdom and truth from whomever you can because even an apostate can have them but unless they are passed over to a faithful Muslim and become part of wisdom and truth that he possesses, they have a confused existence in the minds of apostates.

Better still, buy A Brief Guide to Islam by Paul Grieve. Its only about seven quid & its much more informative. It explains the origins of Islam, why & how the split between Sunni & Shi'a Islam happened, how Islam grew through the centuries & how it now faces the modern world. It explains the Qu'ran's structure & why it is such a daunting text to read. It also explains modern politics in the Islamic world, including all those names like Hamas & Hizbullah, then explains their origins & aims. It also explains the history of the Middle East & the differences between Christianity & Islam.
I could go on & on....but I found it a brilliant book by a writer who is not a Muslim but approached the subject with an open mind.

I am afraid you may be shocked at what you find.
I chap I know was asked to lead an Equalities group at our local council, He went to the Library and on the Internet to find out about other religions and he became convinced that, A) Britain and the USA are Christian countries in the eyes of Islam and that B) Islam and UK law are not compatible.
He said Islam and Judaeism are very similar in that both believe they have been set apart by God and they are the chosen people who will join God in heaven, or the Garden of Eden when they die, In the case of Islam those who do not believe are Infidels and some sections of the Qur An suggest that Islam should be spread across the whole earth, and the Infidel slain.
The elevation of Muslim above others, hence the veil etc, is directly incompatible with UK equalities legislation, much of the Qur An teachings are inflamatory and offenive to Christians and the Christian Idea of seperate Church and Government operating in paralell is completely alien to Islam. Islam's treatment of women, is completely alien to UK Gender equality laws, and shockingly the Christian Ideal of all living in peace and harmony was absent from Islam.
We had quite a discussion about all this because he sort of changed from a chap who thought all this middle east stuff could be solved if only the people would sit down and talk to someone who was, basically Islamophobic, literally afraid of Islam, he also stood down from his role on Equalities, as he felt his role in the Christian Church through the PCC was an obstacle to dealing with these issues. At one stage he said, " I thought it was just a few fringe nutters who got Islam a bad name but when you look into it the whole (bloody) thing is rotten to the core."

Cool, just give up thinking for yourself and let someone else tell you what to do. Great move. Islamaphobia? You can see by the actions of muslims what Islam is all about!
Somalia, 9/11, 7/7, sunni vs shia in Iraq, the Taliban, Al qaeda, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah.
How many Christian militia and terror groups can you name? (and i'm not even religious). A religion of peace? You have got to be joking.
