Hello Michael

Overall I dont think there are to many that do this currently but I believe it will be the future standard in golf.

Now the reason for it is to keep the speed of play at a normal pace, IE: a group of high handicappers going off at 8 AM on a weekend will back up the course completely, and this detracts from others games.

Thats not to say that all low handicappers are fast players because thats not true either so this new attempt may fail completely and be trashed in the long run.

I have been behind both high and low handicappers that take forever so the rating on handicap is not really a true one. Some sort of time stamp would serve better I think.

Leon

Because they need to know a person level of skill so they can time starts, if you have a handicap of say 5, you dont want to be out and about at the same time as someone on 40 whos hitting all over the place, plus it costs a small fortune to maintain a golf course, they need to know they're not letting some numpty out there whos going to cause a load of damage and create havoc.
