I started a new diet a few days ago, I'm trying to lose weight. I'm eating about half the amount of calories as before, down to about 1400-1600 a day. Before the diet I would eat two times a day, breakfast and supper. Now that I am at half the calories I get hungry in the afternoon, its been ok so far not to eat, but its getting harder to supress the want. So I was wondering if 160 calorie lunch would be fine, not wreck the diet. The 160 calories would come from a half a piece of boneless skinless chicken breast(110 calories a serving, 2 servings in a chicken breast) cooked with a half tablespoon of butter ( 50 calories for 1/2 a serving, 1 serving is 100 calories) and a bottle of water. I know I could not use butter and save the 50 calories, but I love the way it taste and it makes it better than just boiled. So in your opinoin, would it be ok to splurge, so to speak, and have the chicken lunch? Thanks, and sorry for the long question.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

Chicken has protein that your body needs. It is also one of the healthiest things in terms of meat. Also, cutting your calories by half in such a short period of time isn't very healthy. I would be very careful if I were you. There are other ways to diet without killing yourself. Higher calorie foods aren't all bad, especially if they are high in fiber but low in fat.
