He hits me, he says bad words to me and im scared to do something about it cause it might affect the processing of my green card and it might take longer. We process and send the paper works together on September 2006 and waiting for a reply from INS. Hes not working he just quit hes job and im working really hard just to pay all of the bills in the house.. Please help, What's the best thing I should do? Thank you ..

I'm not using him for the green card i've been married for 2 yrs been with him for 4. I'm just so confused because we always argue and sometimes it lets to something else like him putting a hand on me.. I dont want to leave just like that because we have a loan together and like i said hes not working and if i leave my name would look bad. I didnt or not using him for the green card like what other people think! it hurts to be judge when people dont even know what im going through...

The USCIS views spousal abuse very seriously and there are rules in place to allow you to leave the marriage and still get your Green Card. Please look at the link below. There seem to be a few useful resources there.

If you're putting up with this abuse just to get into the States, that's sad. No man has the right to hit a woman but you need to find a better man. You may not live to see that Green Card.

CALL THE POLICE WHEN HE HITS YOU. You should still be able to get a green card---do not support and cover up for someone that is using you for a punching bag---EVER.
