I am "un"diagnosed bipolar. The "un" is there because not one of my psych docs has written it, but everyone one of them has at least suspected it. I was on meds for about three years, everything from Trazadone to Depakote to Resperidone to you name it. I can't count them on both hands. Thing is, it's been months since I last took anything for the mood swings, and it's catching up with me.
I can't go back to relying on meds. In six months I'll be 18 and moving out, mostly because even on meds I can't control myself the whole time and my parents quit tolerating it when I was 15. That means I'll have my butt kicked to the curb and no way to pay for meds, so even if I do have a job by then I'll lose it because I won't have the funds to stay sane and eat.
i don't know what to do and I'm more than pulling apart at the seams. I've made too many mistakes and I can't fix them. I don't have anywhere to go. Can anyone help?

If the psychiatrist didn't have a diagnosis, they should not have been prescribing the meds. You need to see someone that know what the heck they are doing.
Meds can help your bipolar, you have to get the right ones and stay on them. It takes a couple of months for your body to adjust to them. Keep the doctor informed about symptoms, side affects, etc.
Your parents need to get a grip. They need to assist you until this is resolved in some way. Don't leave their home, being on the street is very dangerous and things will get much worse.
Tell your parents you need their help to find the right doctor with the right answer. Go to someone that is recommended who has lots of experience with bipolar and has successes on their resume for treating bipolar. Search out support groups, there are out there, for you and your parents. There, you may find more information and help. Don't give up.

like i told someone who had a worry something like yours, you can talk to your doctor, or go to mental health and they can get almost any drug that you may need for the disorder, at no cost to you, you would be surprized how many drug companies are willing to do that . You will get your supply through the doctor or the nurse at mental health monthly usually, I have known quit a few people that have done this and are still doing it and receiveing their medication from the companies cause they can not effort it. And you can be seen by mental health for nothing, since you are not makeing nothing, and will be on your own, they can also help you find a job, and apply for jobs, and even find a place to live, so not all is lost here. Have some faith, casue there is light at the end of the tunnel you just need to find it, and then go and get it. So do that as soon as you can, get back on your medication, and get better, stay in therapy, and let them help you to find that job and keep it and fine a place to stay. By the way find a different doctor or therapist, cause if they have not told you for sure you have that disorder, then you need to find someone that can tell you what you have. , and if you have that disorder.

Hello, first let me say that you're doing great by looking for help.
You can hold it together!
You seem to be stressing about the "exact" diagnosis. You may have more than one mental disorder, but that's not up to you to define. You must let the professional do this for you and allow them to treat it.
As I'm sure you already know, medication for mental disorders take time to build into your system and it also takes time for chemical imbalances to return. In your case it seems as though this sypmtoms are returning, because you stopped taking the meds. When you start taking this meds you'll start again at the beginning, meaning at first you may not feel any improvement but then you'll feel less distressed.
About meds, you may have the need to be w/ meds for life. No shame in that. There are kids diagnosed w/ diabetes they will need insulin for life, and they will enjoy life just like you and me.
About Medicine, you may be able t qualify for Medical Assisting program for the low income and other resources. Above all don't lose hope. Talk to your M.D. ASAP and up date him on all your life aspects so that he and other professional can direct you to a healthier "you". God bless you.

Please, keep on looking for professional help until you
get what you need. It is often an odysee before you
you actually get the help you are entitled to.
What mistakes, just leave them behind you. Move on .
All the best.

Try places like The Salvation Army, they help people who need it! If they can't help they'll know who can. Find a Corps or family services in your area here.
