It sounds like you are new to the Word of God. One can not ask imperfect humans about "your" relationship with God. Go to the Lord in prayer and there you will find the answers.
Also, please do not make the mistake that many False Religions have made, by getting so wrapped up in the "religion": traditions, spellings, ect, that you miss the point of who our Father really is, and are unable to discern truth.
It's important to remember, that the Bible was not written in English. Everything you are reading with "English" words is a "translation" from other languages. Yeshua, is no more than the English spelling and pronunciation of what we often refer to as Jesus.
The "New Testament" was written in Greek. This is why you will NOT find the name "Jesus" in Greek translations. In Matthew 1:21, we find the meaning of the name translated as "Jesus" in English. It says, "he will save his people from their sins." In the Hebrew, the name "Yehoshua", pronounced as "Joshua" in English, means "the Lord saves". Also, in Hebrew, the word for "salvation" is "yeshuah'".
Thus, if you would like to be "technically" correct, your question could have been: "how can I become a follower of Yeshuah". Even then, that would not be the absolute ORIGINAL translation of the name, but it would be closer.
Again, many, many, religions are so focused on tradition, correct spelling, and performing outwardly acts of kindness and preaching(for other humans to judge), they forget it is by FAITH we are saved, not ACTS. If these two points were truly understood, it would correct much deception.
It is your relationship with God that has priority. When you have that, he will instruct and teach you through the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
Everything you do, whether it be preaching, showing acts of kindness, scriptural study, ect, are to be done for the Glory of God, not to make a point to imperfect humans, or to display how much knowledge you've obtained through self-study.

No one "becomes" a follower of Yeshua Christ (Jesus) with or without the principles of Christianity. One is called according to His purpose. That calling and the work of the cross bring one to an understanding of God's grace, mercy and election.
No one can decide to become a follower of Jesus Christ (Yeshua) any more than some woman can decide to marry me, without my election, even though I were to place a world wide ad saying I will consider to marry anyone who responds.
One has no say until God steps in on a personal level and touches the life of your heart. Even then only God will know if you are wheat to save or weed to burn.
It is perhaps best to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to lead you into a true revelation of what it takes to become one with Him in this evil hour. If you do not have His life today you cannot be with Him tomorrow.
I assume you refer to Yeshua Ben Joseph (Jesus known as the son of Joseph and Mary).
For your critics the name Jesus, meaning saviour, is the Greek form of Jehoshua or (Joshua). The surname of Joshua or Yeshua ( also written Jeshua and pronounced yes-shoe-uh) appears in various forms including Hoshea, Oshea, Jehoshua, Jeshua as mentioned, and Jesus.

The Joseph guy is right.
There are a lot of "Yeshua" cults out there nowadays who are pretending to be Christian and are not. Read the Bible and be wary of these wolves.
Yeshua and Yahweh cults are most often tied in with prosperity Gospel (I pray for a Cadillac and I get one nonsense). The site below can give you some good information about them.

Well, first, you should use the right name.
Yeshua, Yesu, and Yesus are all Hebrew and Aramaic (and bastardized) versions of the name "Jesus". If you speak English, this is the dude you're talking about.
Since the "principles" of Christianity were first introduced by Jesus (Christianity was named after him), you can't be a follower of "Yeshua" without embracing the principles of Christianity as he introduced them.

Repent, ask forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart. It's through Jesus Christ that we are saved.
