Zoloft question?

When going off Zoloft medication how long do i wait till the side effects leave and my libido comes back?? thanks

I've been on Zoloft for over 5 years. I've personally never had any side effects. I did, however, stop taking it once for about 3 weeks because of a mistake at my pharmacy when they thought it was no longer on my insurance company's formulary. It took right at about 2 weeks for me to notice the difference of no longer taking the medication. However, my doctor said it could take up until a month to feel the full effects of the medication, so I would assume it would take the same amount of time for all the side effects you're experiencing to leave, particularly if you're sensitive to the medication.

Probably at least 2 weeks. I did not have this particular problem with Zoloft (thank Heaven) but every time I change any kind of SSRI, which Zoloft is, it takes at least a couple of weeks to notice anything about it kicking in or wearing off.

I have heard, word of mouth only, that meds like Wellbutrin and Effexor do not cause this problem as much. That would be a good question for your Dr.

my other half was on zoloft for a few years and we think about 2 to8 weeks any longer see a doctor also i hope coming of zoloft u weened your dosage down because stopping all of a sudden will stuff u up for a while and good luck hope u get better soon

well it is different for everyone, so it is hard to tell. i hope you did not just go off of it by yourself, without telling your doctor, cause you really need to be tapered off of it, it is a spin off from prozac, and so you could really cause youself some serious withdrawals. Usually if done right, it will not take you very long to get back to your ole self.
