You want to do interval training. You would start with a two-minute warm-up, and then increase your speed every two minutes until you've done ten minutes of that (up five levels). Then repeat one or two times. Every third session or so, you want to increase your beginning level.

So, let's say that you don't run at all right now. You might start out training for 20 minutes. You'd start your treadmill with walking at 2.7 mph for two minutes. Then you might start running at 4.0 for two minutes, then go to 4.2 for two minutes, 4.4 for two minutes, etc., for ten minutes. Then you'd got back to 4.0 and start over. After three days of doing this, you might start running at 4.2 and go up.

You could also do intervals in different ways, switching it up and down, depending on how much you can take for how long.

Try reading one of the running magazines for help with this.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

Practice and practice and practice.
