It depends on the person and their body really... its between 7 to 10 hours..
If you are sleepy when the alarm clock goes off, your body hasnt got enough rest yet.
If you want to know yours, go to sleep and wake up without an alarm. That is how many hours of rest your body needs.

a person from the age of 20-30 should have at least 6-8 hrs sleep in a day..

I feel most people in that age group needs an average of 7 hours of sleep. I don't think they should get less than 6 hours.
