Yes. There are several high tribe peoples putting up armed resistance against the Myanmar government. These groups are severely out manned and out armed by the repressive GOM, and their existence and cause are principally ignored by the outside world. The Shan people's army is the most cohesive group.
The only assistance being provided is a minimal amount of international social welfare assistance along the Thai - Myanmar border with the Thais who are less than happy about any confrontations.
It is sad to see these kind, gentle people being repressed as they are without a serious humanitarian outcry.
