You are doing fine.
One thing you want to consider is to vary the pace of your workout. Your body is very highly adaptable, but it only optimize based on what is required.
For example, if you run 30 min a day at 10 min/mile pace. You body automatically consume calorie at that pace and NO MORE. In the end of workout, you go home and feel hungry and eat food to restore the calories consumed. If you eat less than what was consumed during workout, you do loose a bit, but NO MORE.
What you really need is to STRESS/JOLT your body by varying your work pace.
Continuing with the example of running, the best way to loose weight and achieve optimal condition is through FARTLEK and INTERVAL training. Those two terms are actual terminology in sport training, you can goggle them to find a lot of info and training schedule on them.
The gist of those type of training is to force your body to perform beyond its current comfort level. For instance, if your current pace is 10min/ml. Doing interval of 9min/ml of 4 sets of 2 minute s each( in time, gradually increase the pace), will force your body to consume a lot more calorie and consume them more efficient. But the pace must be a GRADUAL increase, otherwise you'll feel burnout and hurt yourself.
I hope those will provide pointers for you, best wishes.

Hi there,
Don't beat yourself up too hard. 6lbs is a start. In exercising and starting to eat healthy, you have to realise that you're re-training your metabolism. It takes a while for the changes to take hold. So 6lbs in 3-4 weeks isn't bad at all.
The other problem which I am glad you acknowledge is your low self esteem. This needs to be addressed, because even if you lose weight, you'll find something else to be ashamed of in front of your fiancee. If he loves you like he says he does, then you having a few extra pounds shouldn't bother him one bit.... if it does, then I think the problem is beyond the weight issue. You need to start focussing on the inside... I know that's just plan cheezy and is as cliche as they come... but really, you need to be confident of who you are as a person, what you bring to the world, or to the people around or, if not, losing weight isn't really going to help.
You're doing well so far, just keep it up. Remember, fiber is your friend when it comes to wieght loss.
1) It fills you up with out adding as many calories
2) It heavily reduces the rate of fat absorption
Good sources are oat bran, all bran cereals, beans and generally any fruits and vegetables. The daily recommended intake is 30 grams.
Good luck! I hope this helps you.

Hon, the rate you're losing weight at is the maximum safest rate you can LOL I wish I were doing that! It's not possible to lose 50 pounds by march, simply because it's not safe to lose so much weight so fast, your body isn't prepared for it. Just keep going at the pace you're going, and whatever you have in March, maybe you can postpone it? that way it'll give you some more time, and you won't be losing self-esteem for nothing, because really, you're doing the best that you can right now. Like I said, losing weight any faster would be unhealthy. *hug* hang in there! I'm rooting for you! And I'm also doing something similar to you, I'm trying to lose 40 pounds by May or June ^_^ Good luck!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

I would like my weight to come off faster too, but if you carry on with your excercise and diet it will come off gradually and is more likely to stay off. You didn't put the weight on over a couple of weeks and cant expect to lose it over a couple of weeks. Stay with it and your fiancee was with you when you weighed more so its obviously more of an issue with you. Good luck.
