This is a real thing that has happened. I have a younger brother who is so good looking that I like him a lot. I still do. To cut the story short we started having a relation that is considered as incest or taboo for a brother and sister. I started that. I really liked him a lot. I could not find a good reason that explains why this is bad.

Couple of years I learned from Discover channel that we are generally more attracted to people who have a matching DNA. That answered my question. We must be having a very closely matching DNA. Thats why we formed such a very good bonding. I wonder why people made this taboo. I could not answer this question at all. Can somebody come with a very good answer why this should be considered a taboo?

P.S: May be I began thinking wrong and am missing some correct understanding of good life. I wanted to know a genuine reason for making this a taboo. It is not good to plainly say that I am bad. Please make me understand why this is wrong.

Is it wrong for someone to be attracted to their mom or dad? Have a sexual relationship with there mom or dad? Scientifically it doesn't work because kids are born with deformities that's why it is wrong. And since in ancient times they did not have protection (Condoms) and other birth control manners it was considered to be wrong. And from there on it is considered to be wrong and humans have been living with this rule for so long that it is like a Rule a Law God's Law. So if you were to have a child with your brother you will have to figure out another way.

EDIT: It is also wrong if you are getting involved with your sibling or if a parent is getting involved with their own kids under the age of 18.

Actually what people believe about offspring born from sibling or related family is somewhat a misconception. There is risk of deformity but not nearly as much as anyone thinks. It's actually quite low and there is a good chance the offspring will be healthy and completely normal. The risk of deformity is less then 1:4 assuming pure strains on either side so there is a 3:4 chance of a normal, healthy baby. You would have to decide if thats a risk you'd wanna take. People take similar risks when having babies at old age or using drugs while pregnant. I think avoiding ANY risk is the wise choice.
It's just become culturally innaceptable for many reasons, it's psychologically damaging to the offspring of such families because of what they would be facing in the real world, people hugely frown on this and would be very cruel to such families.
We use to have dynasties where siblings would marry to keep the family strong. For those religious people who think such things are inacceptable then what about Adam and Eves offspring? They would have had to have incest.
I can't actually give you much reason why it is wrong, all I know is that I would never even think about it because it makes me sick thinking about it BUT although socially inacceptable, it is your life. Just think long and hard on what sort of life you would be giving your children if you so choose to have some and what a hard life and confusing life they would have to endure.
You are brave to ask this question and I do hope you find answers to help you. Such a choice in life is a very heavy choice with a lot of risk and one thing you can't do is divorce your brother, he's your brother for all time. I think you should stop while you're ahead until you are completely sure of what you are doing , have a talk with a psychiatrist because it might not be close DNA causing this attraction, it might be underlying emotional issues that need to be sorted out.
Good luck and I really wish the best for you.

Incest is also known as inbreeding.

If both of you have kids together, the kids will most likely be deformed due to genetic disorder.

There is a reason to this taboo, why people stop it, if everyone does it, the world population will be low, babies will have disorders.

Inbreeding may result in a far higher expression of deleterious recessive genes within a population than would normally be expected. As a result first generation inbred individuals are more likely to show physical and health defects, including:
reduced fertility both in litter size and in sperm viability
increased genetic disorders
fluctuating facial asymmetry
lower birth rate
higher infant mortality
slower growth rate
smaller adult size
loss of immune system function.

You can read more about it with the link of my source.
Love and attraction is one thing, being logical is another thing. Think.

It's a very unhealthy situation for you both, and you each must see a counselor. Society made this a taboo and illegal because of birth defects that resulted from incestuous births. Incestuous relationships also break down the family unit and make relationships confusing for people. For example, if there were no rules or boundaries about relationships, a young girl wouldn't feel safe from the advances of her father, brother, uncle, etc, and a mother would feel threatened by her daughter and wouldn't take care of her, etc. The rules, taboos, mores, etc. of a society are very important to protect the continuation of society. Unfortunately people still aren't always safe from their parents, but that is still one of the reasons incest is taboo. I'm sure others will come along and explain it better than I have. The important thing is that you find someone for you and your brother to talk to so you can learn how to have a normal brother/sister relationship.

The only real risk is that if people started having children with their siblings then the gene pool would be severely restricted for those children because your DNA is so close. This means it is much, much more likely that those children would be unhealty or disabled. I think someone made it a social taboo because otherwise everyone would do it and most would have children which would cause a lot of unhappiness for those children and future generations. But I don't think here is any other reason for it.

as little as 200 years ago it was socially acceptable to marry within your own family in fact it was quite common. when science began to advance they started studying the affects of imbreeding and the diformities that are caused by such breeding. the offspring of one mating between brother and sister may turn out fime but you look further down the line and alot can go wrong with the children. well to make a long answer shorter because science says it is a bad thing society has made it taboo.

It is generally considered tabboo because the future would be very bleak.....in as much as if such a union had off spring the chance of genetic abnormality would be as high as it gets.......also I understand the attraction thing as in documented cases of siblings not knowing they are siblings and embarking on a relationship ....that is until they discover the truth of it. In the long term it is not a union society would smile on for the obvious reasons,,,,,,,,it is generally considered un natural....but the human psychi can flow against the tide asyours has done. Not judging here at all....but long term.......consider all the implications that are personal to you both........

Would you bring a child into this world knowing that there's a almost 100% chance that they are gonna live of life of confusion, inadequacy, physical and emotional pain and being ostracized by society because their paren'ts were brother and sister? Would you want that for your child? That's why it's taboo AND against the law.The reason they made it against the law was because of all the children being born with disabilities as a result of incest.Lord knows we already have enough stupid people in the world who arent disabled, just dumb.We don't need more.Maybe you should seek professional help. And in case you didn't know, you are breaking a law.

A couple of things come to mind about this relationship. First incest is against the law and you could be sent to prison (though i don't know the laws in the US but it is illegal in Australia) Secondly I hope you do not have any thoughts about having children because as your are of the same blood.....bad mix.
Other than those reasons I cant see any problem with a relationship like that.

Without going into all the genetic abnormalities that you would pass onto children (God forbid) you could have, it is one of the few UNIVERSAL TABOOS in ALL CULTURES in the entire WORLD. Watch the movie "Deliverance" with Robert Redford and you'll see a really good product of incest. Beyond being SICK, it's universally looked down on. I think you and your bro need some mental help. Do you also find your parents attractive? MY GOD, GET SOME HELP!!!

If you want someone to tell you WHY it is wrong, just ask your mom and dad. They will tell you, assuming they aren't also brother and sister.
