What's he scared of, dying? That's absurd isn't it. Doesn't his faith teach us not to fear? Does he think he is someone special? I have no respect for that.

I agree with you, the Pope does not need to fear about anything. He supposedly live by his faith and not care about worldly things. He should preach the name of the Lord and dying should be the last thing on his mind.

So he should just let anyone who wants to try to assasinate him?

The popemobile started when Pope John Paul II was almost killed while standing in a vehicle and waving to the masses. Has nothing to do with fearing death. Has more to do with not letting crazy people kill other people on a whim.

Well you see when you start promoting the lies of the catholic church someone might want you dead. It could be because of one of the children he once knew as a pedofile. You know kids get mad and grow up. It could be that he is afraid which anyone would be who is claiming to be God on earth. Maybe it is because he knows that God is not going to protect him.
It is strange that one pope was shoot by a gunman a few years back and they say now great it was that God protected him. And this fellow by the name of John Hegee was shoot at point plank in a chruch in Ameican, 8 shoots and from less then 15 feet away and not one bullet touched him.
The pope and the catholic church are not endorced by God and thus they have to protect the popes for they are not under Gods protection.

You're being silly now...I'm a Christian, and I don't fear death either. But you know what I do fear? PAIN. I can imagine that being shot a hundred times and having my body riddled with bullets would not be a pleasant experience, so I would avoid it if I could too.

We have an obligation to take reasonable care of our life. That is why we wear seatbelts. Considering how many people want to kill the Pope, it is a reasonable precaution.

because the popes have been shot at in the last 30 yrs or so, it wasnt the popes choice to have the pope mobile, it was the rest of the church that wanted to preserve his life. you have no respect for anything i assume.
