Foreman was a great puncher who became a boxer. Some will say Foreman was the best boxer ever because he did possess a great punch.. Look at his fights with Joe Frazier to give yourself an idea. He lost a fight with Muhammad Ali that many will say was one of the best fights in the history of boxing considering the guy that won was supposed to lose. Foreman then retired after a few more fights then unretired years later and won the heavyweight championship back again with a fight against Michael Moorer. Foreman not only used to be a boxer but was one of the most feared ones.

This question should be closed by now.
But as long as I'm here, The grill guy doesn't box. The Boxer makes grilles. Just so you know.
Yes Foreman was a great boxer. Hall of Famer. A Legend.
As far as nearly beating Muhammad Ali.
Joe Frazier beat Muahmmad Ali.
Foreman Beat Joe Frazier.
Therefore Foreman thought he could beat Ali but was wrong when they had "The Rumble in the Jungle" in Zaire, Africa Ali won by an 8th round KO. Very good fight you should watch it sometime.

He was a boxer that fought in his 20s and 40s. Foreman became the oldest heavy weight champion a few years ago and finally retired. Love his grill. The Houston/Galveston area has produced some of the best heavyweights in history, check link to learn more.

Did you mean,' was George Foreman a boxer? ' Yes he was, but he never came remotely close to beating Mohammed Ali. He now very successfully promotes a particular type of cooking appliance which is, I am told very good.

He was one hell of a boxer! And he's still in damned good shape!
That's why you want to buy the George 'Boxing God and alround good man' Foreman Health Grill, rather than the Rosemary 'Wishy washy granny with no original ideas and an ego the size of a house' Connolly Health Grill!
Go George!

Yes LiL' Jo, he use to be a boxer and a damm good one too but he got caught on the Rope a Dope by Mohamed Ali and that was the end of his career for a while. He came back and has done good for his age but he's done better on the grill side of the ring thanks to Mohammad Ali, the greatest.
