Don't tell them. it will be really uncomfortable if he/she doesn't like you back.
If you are sure he/she likes you, you can give it a try. But then even if he/she does like you, then if things go sour after a week or a month, it will suck even more.
Best thing is to quit first, then ask him/her out, unless you need the money more.
Hope this helps! Haha!

don't "dance around the situation" pick up on signals, see if s/he is interested in you as well i.e. asking to meet afterwork for a non work based convo then send out little signals such as lets get together on the weekend if the person says oh I'm not interested in you in that way you can save face by saying something like, no no I meant just to talk I enjoy our conversations or something to that effect

Innocent flirting never hurts. Just ask yourself if you really wanna hook up with someone at work. The saying "Don't sh*t where you eat" is a saying for a reason. If you still want to pursue it, just be friendly and flirt a bit.

tease them a little, tell em how good they do their work lately, ask em out after your work hours, then, believe me, if they are still single, they too will feel the fuzzies...

suggest lunch 'together' or maybe "coffee". start slow, and see what happens before you lay all your cards on the table. And of course be generous with the smiles!

You don't. Getting involved with a co-worker is about the worst thing you could do.
