A whole lot of people are very disturbed by the thought of Jesus being married and having sex.
I am a christian and happen to be more disturbed by the thought that he had to live his whole life without having a partner to share his life with.
I am sure that his disciples were cool guys but come on!
I hope he had someone to share that kind of special relationship with.

The New Testament describes Mary as a faithful disciple of Jesus. Yet, the biblical text provides no evidence of a relationship between Jesus and Mary that even hints of a marriage relationship.

I wouldn't say all christians get offended by it, after all, it was the christians who for some reason decided to believe The DaVincci Code as truth... Really I don't see why someone would be bothered one way or another except there's very little evidence in either direction, but lack of evidence doesn't stop other christian beliefs... Maybe it's a sexist thing and they like to believe he only truly cared about his apostles? Or maybe only the father is allowed to have kids, and the phrase "the son" indicates an inability to do such?.... I dunno.

There are biblical records of what Jesus did do, not what He didn't do.
Other than that, this is an attack on the Deity of Jesus, a lie to try to make Him seem like a normal man.
He is God come to earth in the flesh, and did not have children. That was not His purpose in coming to earth.

whatever...i believe that he would and could have gotten married, Jesus needed love too!
i dont see why it would have been such a horrible thing?
also for that person above me Jesus was not God, and his purpose was to remind the Jewish people of their faith and not to start something new! Jesus was a man born on Earth through a mortal mother and through the Devine....which would make him half man...and in turn i think would make it easier for people to accept him, although im pretty sure i will get dissed for saying this!

That got them stirred up. Of course you are right, he may have been married, but then he may not have married. There is no evidence either way, but I see most answers were a hysterical denial and did not address the question of why they get so offended.

1. Beats me as to why anyone would be offended by the possiblility of Jesus being married.
2. However, just what RELIABLE evidence do you have that he DID get married?

I really think that Christians get really excited if they think that jesus had a sex life at all. I don't know if he did or not...but I'm certainly not gonna get upset about it.
