An IQ test does not tell intelligence. All it shows is the ability to take the test. Intelligence is more complicated than a simple test. It does not test one's ability to reason or use logic. Many things asked in the test some will not know not having been exposed to it. 100 is an average score but many nations have their IQ's tested and score below that. IQ is just based on what the tester thinks the subject should know at that age. One test cannot measure intelligence. Einstein failed math. Does that mean he was stupid?

Was the IQ test graded on the curve.. What I am saying is... we can't expect an 11 yr old to be tested and scored the same as an adult.
If she were tested in a grown up world then she did just fine and probably better than average. We can't expect an 11 yr old to have the knowledge adults have as they have not the world experience not the education levels to compete equally. We are looking at "apples" to "oranges"..
SHE DID GREAT

First of all, 100 is average, not stupid.
Second of all, unless she took the test on paper, from a reputable service, it is invalid. True IQ tests are scored dependent on age and timing, not just answers.
Lastly, IQ tests are not a reliable measure of intelligence. If she seems bright, she probably is.

some test scores only apply to people that are good at tests ( most IQ test ) I score well in IQ test but know smarter people ( smarter than I ) who don't
if she wants a future in engineering then a high IQ test score is a good sign but if she wants to be a teacher it may not be - it's all about how you think not how test-smart you are

Considering the military accepts IQ's at the 70 level, and technical jobs begin at the 100 level...I'd say she's pretty smart for her age.

Your friend should ignore this result. IQ testing is a poor indication of intelligence

Average I.Q. is 100, regardless of age. I won't get into the debate of whether I.Q. tests accurately measure intelligence or not. She has an average I.Q. score.

A test can't tell if your smart or not sometimes the smartest people do horrible on tests, I bet if she were to take the test again she would do alot better.

90 is considered average so your friend is above average. She may not be 120 or 130 but she is at least ahead of the average person and ahead of the game.
