To all the naysayers, who are probably not open minded enough to give the matter a second thought:
How do you know it would not work, if it has never been tried? Who died and left you an infallible judge of human nature? You are only prejudging the Iraqi people, and most of you fail to provide reasons for your preconceived notions.
Perhaps many impoverished people, who do have their own mouths to feed, join with insurgents only because they need some type of financial support in their demolished country.

I take back the part "to all the naysayers." Most of the "naysayers" did provide reasoning. It was just one, who answers questions almost exclusively for "Singles and Dating," who irritated me a little bit.

No, their inflation rate would not be high because there isn't much to buy in Iraq. They would have to buy from elsewhere--like the U.S.A.!

what loser says this is a good point? oh i know who, the guy who answered the question above me. Like your plan would actually work, "Here's some money now promise to behave..." Come on.

You can't bet that the Iraqis are going to be nice if you hand them $40,000 each. Besides, you can't solve the problem of poverty with money. You solve money problems with changing someone's mindset.
Also, another good point mentioned before is, the inflation would be too high in Iraq because people would be spending their 40,000 each, thus their central bank would have to continue increasing their interest rates, thus indirectly increasing infaltion
NOT to mention the problem ot circulating 1 trillion US dollars will make the US dollar reduce in value, since the US dollar is a currency. At least before 1971, US dollar was backed by gold, so it may not have lost value then. Now, US dollar is a currency, it would be an indirect, economic disaster for the US to circulate 1 trillion dollars in Iraq.

I guess you guys don't understand the culture, huh?
That won't work. It's not a matter of money. It's a matter of revenge. The Shiites are out for revenge and the Sunnis are trying to survive. In the process, we are trying to get them to work together and not kill each other.
If it were a matter of money, it would be easy.

Iraq would suffer the worst inflation ever, would blame the US for it, would buy weapons of mass destruction with most of the money and attack the US and Israel
