Drinking water while exercising is a must to keep the body hydrated. You can have terrible headaches or muscle cramps if you don't. I find it depends what sort of exercise I'm doing as to how much I take. When I play Squash not too much as it just swishes round in the stomach and is uncomfortable, but more for aerobics and Gym work

It actually depends on the intensity and duration of your exercise. I guess for dancing, you can drink almost anytime. But for higher intensity or endurance exercises, you should drink beyond the point of thirst about 30mins before your exercise. And during exercise, you shouldn't drink too much at a time. Too much water with strenuous activity can cause excessive dilution of your blood and cause hyponatraemia whereby the water dilutes your blood so much that the electrolytes concentration drops below optimum and you may get cramps and nausea.

Drink water before, during, and after exercise. You don't want to drink so much that you feel sick. If your sweating alot or in the heat it is even more important to drink water duing exercise.

well, water intake is ok at moderate amounts during exercise to keep yourself hyrdrated. by moderate amount, well, it depends on what kind of exercise your doing. well, it's also up to you to know how much water you're going to take. too much water might give you a really bad stomach ache. too little water might defeat the purpose of rehydration.

sometimes, if it isn't a "full-on-heavy" form of exercise, it might be better to drink after exercising. at least, your done, meaning you may avoid getting an instant stomach ache.

btw, it's recommended not to drink very cold water...just a thought.

When I am working out I drink a litter of water. The majority of the water I drink is during my cardio as that is when I am loosing most of my fluids. In the past I was one of those people that didn't drink anything while working out, I ended up walking away from the gym feeling drained. Since I started drinking my litter of water I feel great when I leave.

normal days you need 8 glasses of water, if you exercise, drink more than 8 glasses. Perhap add a bit of salt to one glass of water.
