you can't. Unless you get hurt. Don't sign up if you can't do the time.

If you signed up for the Military you have to serve how many years you signed up for. There really is no way of getting out without a dishonorable discharge.
You commited to it so just serve your time and get out after your time is up. If it is really horrible to you then do something stupid to get dishonorable discharge. But that is not the right thing to do.

If you have been in less than 180 days you can file for discharge due to inability to adapt to military lifestyle. A dishonorable discharge is hard to get, you have to be sent to Court Marshall. Usually if you are getting kicked out for "bad" reasons you get an Other than honorable (OTH) or admin discharge.

You can quit anytime up until you go to boot camp, dont let anyone tell you differently. Once you go off to boot camp its a different issue. To get out you can fake medical reasons like stress, but this takes months and patience. If you do drugs they will kick you out but you get the bad discharge. (some people say you can upgrade it later, but either way they are dirtbags and employers know that). Also just taking off, like going AWOL or leaving will also get you a bad discharge.

So fake a medical condition like craziness or stress after you are in, and if you havent been to boot camp yet (DEPS) just tell the recruiter you are not going. They will try to tell you everything to make you go but bottom line is, if you dont want to go you dont have to.

You should have thought of that before you signed up. Please, don't tell me you signed up for college money, and then found out you were headed to Iraq.

Do not act out to get out - I don't know if they'll remove you for being gay, but drug use, insanity, etc. will not reflect well on you. There is likely a way out, or an alternative assignment - talk with the people there, not here. You could apply for conscientious objector status, might save you from combat. Seriously though, if you're in, take advantage of it, try to survive if you're fighting, and come out with some cash and skills for your resume. Military service opens many doors.

When the car's gone over the cliff, that's one hell of a time to put on the brakes. Do your time. You will appreciate it in later years. You start quiting now, you'll be a quitter for the rest of your life. Wanna wake up to see that in the mirror each morning for the rest of your life?

Basically you are screwed. Only way you could get out is having a mental breakdown or faking a mental breakdown. You better be a good faker because they know when someone is bsing.

That's a question you should have asked yourself before you enlisted.

For now, when you look in the mirror every morning, say hello to the idiot.
