What is wrong with religious people, I'm 13 and I'm a lesbian, I know I'm a lesbian. Why do christians keep trying to tell me I'm not and that 13 year olds arn't old enough to know that kind of thing. I like girls, I don't like guys, why can't you people just accept that it's not a choice, it's the way you are.

Well thank you all for being so concerned that you doubt that I'm a lesbian, but the question was, what is wrong with you that you can't acccept it and deal with it. You are all proving my point.

I know it's hard, but please try to listen as little as possible to the religious folks. There is nothing wrong with being lesbian, it's just you, being human, and it's a part of you.

You will, however, have to fight against a lot of prejudice in your life. And that's horrible. It's horrible that this planet has people that can't simply let you be you.

I'm actually proud of you, that at the age of 13, you have the power to come here, and simply state that you are lesbian. It means you're a strong girl, it also means you are stronger than any prejudice that exists on this planet. You go, girl!

I'm a straight guy from the Netherlands, we Dutchies are in favor of gay marriages and all, and the rest of the world is slowly getting to the point that homosexuality is just a normal human thing. And that makes me happy. It will still take some time though.

I wish you good luck on that. And please, don't let yourself ever be suppressed by silly opinions of others.

Not to put you down . you know yourself better than even your parents do. but don't close that door just yet. Most people are Bi- sexual. And go through phases. the first being preferring a person of the same sex over the opposite sex. This may be a life time thing or just a natural phase. But unless you turn into a hard core Lesbian by dating the wrong type of males that keep breaking your heart. you can find almost as much pleasure in being with a man once in a while(either as a friend or just a one nighter) as with a woman.
after 60 yrs I know it happens.

Its called "narrow-mindedness" I feel for ya kiddo, my niece went through the same thing... Good thing my side of the family is so non-religious, all we did was make jokes about it..LOL in an accepting, teasing way of course same as we tease every other family member(of course with the added fun of lesbian jokes)... I tease her just like I tease my straight nephews about girls... but I have no problem with her sexuality I think it presents even better opportunity for bad jokes aimed at embarrassing teeny-bopper nieces and nephews as any good aunt should do. Its funny because I had heard about many other people disowning family members because of their sexuality and I couldnt fathom it... my family is so easy going and accepting we would never hold something as trivial as that against our beloved family members.

PS I never told my niece she wasnt mature/old enough to know her sexuality... I only told her that she couldnt say she didnt like c0ck until she tried it herself..lol and yes those were the words I used. If you have tried it and dont like it then you can say there is absolutely no way you are straight or Bi...

Of course you hate guys. You're only thirteen. My brother didn't like girls either, that is until he met an exchange student from Korea, and now can't stop talking about his new found friend (He's 15). I guess this is a phase all young people like you goes through, so give yourself time to find out. Also, just in case, Rom 1:24-27 states " God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them...God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites , for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature ..."
Jude 7 Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them, after they...[had gone] out after the flesh for unnatural use, are placed before us as a warning example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire..

There is nothing wrong with you and depressing though it may be there is nothing wrong with them either. As you said - it's not a choice - it's just the way you are. Unfortunately in the case of many hate filled, ignorant and xenophobic people who use their religion as an excuse for their bigotry the same thing is true.

you're just 13 years old, and they are right tHat you still can't understand some things. I suggest that you still wait more inorder for your thoughts to be matured. and the answer to your question is: it is just the way it is, religion has ssome norms that they follow because they think that is right,

Religious people suffer from schizoid delusional mental disorder.
It is a waste of time to try to make sense of what they are saying especially in the domains of science or sexuality. Just ignore them gracefully.

There is nothing wrong with me but maybe you should not brag about being a lesbian.

I agree that it's not a choice.
However, I still think that you're not quite old enough to know if those feelings will last. Many adolescents go through homosexual phases; yours may end, or it may continue.

Either way, good luck! :)

it is a fact that at age 13 your brain is not yet fully developed. Give yourself some more time to mature.
