We have already paid for the marriage license. This is in Taos, New Mexico.

No you do not have to tip them, preciding over a ceremony is part of their job.
If you feel you need to tip, then of course do so, but if I did it would be a gift certificate to a restaurant near the courthouse so they may enjoy lunch or dinner on you.

NO - He is already getting paid big box to just sit down there on a seat and agree to the union. I don't see any need to tip him. To me, a good - Thank You Very Much! is sufficient. However, if your generosity wishes to extend to tipping - so right ahead. Nothing wrong in that. But I am not sure they are allowed to take tips.

I don't know about a judge but we tiped our minister 100 dollars after paying for him but it may be different with a judge, its not so personal.

YES TIP THEM. Hold up your right hand and make a fist like your your showing him the top of the hand. Now extend your middle finger. There's his tip.

I didn't tip the one that married us and now that you brought it up, I think I want to sue.
