I have to get my bottom 2 wisdom teeth taken out. I know someone that went to sleep for the procedure while another was awake the whole time. They both said that they felt ok after it was done. The last time I saw the specialist he suggested that I go under but with the world the way it is today I don't want to get robbed or be taken advantage of while being under. I would have to drive myself back and forth anyway because I don't know anyone else that could be there for me during the day. I know that the procedure would take a while and that my mouth would be majorly sore afterwards because of it staying open for so long. Which is better general or local anesthesia?

let me tell you that you will not feel pain either way. they give you 4-8 shots at the beginning to numb the area. that will give you some discomfort. from there on you will not feel pain. HOWEVER you will feel pressure which can be confused with pain and thus this may cause some discomfort. It is much easier to under as you will not deal with any of the discomforts described above.

I always think that less medication is safer and better, if you can take it. It will also be cheaper probably.
If you need anesthesia, make sure they are certified and know how to use their monitors especially in office settings.
