Well the best thing to do really is to tell him the truth, also let him know that you can always be friends until you become interested in him like he is in you. You are only 12 and my boy is 12 going on 21, the best advice i can give is be honest, and tell him gently. Most boys usually are ok with the truth than hearing from somebody else because he might think you are not a very honest person.

Well, why don't you try going out on a date with him as friends and see. I find that at times we have this false perception that love is supposed to be a boy across the room we look at - then our heart flutters and he comes waltzing across the room to ask us out. That is only in the movies at times. When in reality, the best relationships turn out to be the ones where friendship was the foundation. I'm not telling you to like the boy, but give him a chance - you never know. Go out and just enjoy his company and see where it goes. If after you go out with him at least two times and you still don't see him romantically then let him know that perhaps you should remain friends. But out of respect for him, please do not send a friend of yours to tell him that you just want to be friends. That would hurt his feelings and it can look mean on your part.

Just be honest with him and let him deal with it.
It would be far worse to string him along. Get a backbone and talk. No offense intended.

Tell him yourself, that you want to know him more, and you don't want to rush in a serious relationship yet, you just want to hang out with him as a pal,

you should tell him not get a friend to and there is no way of breaking up with someone that won't hurt them

just say your not interested in being involved at this point in your life.
But your flattered. show him body language that you are?
you know be confident. that always shows sincerity.
Thats my best unless he starts to stalk you,
Play it cool.

guys i have known, always say JUST TELL ME, i'm sure he's not in love, like REAL LOVE with you, so just let him know, you can do it nicely and not around his friends!
