Wow. Just... wow. I don't think I've ever seen it phrased like that!
I'm not a Christian, so I'm probably biased to start with, but I completely agree with your concerns. I was raised to be Christian and I just completely accepted all that stuff as harsh but true.
I grew up a little and I saw how my gay uncle wasn't treated nice by his siblings. I saw how they wouldn't let his lover sit next to him at our grandmother's funeral, even though they'd been together for years and they loved each other as much as any of the other siblings' spouses.
Then I saw how my best friend couldn't get an abortion because it was wrong, but then she couldn't give the baby up for adoption because her abusive boyfriend wouldn't sign the adoption papers. She ended up living on the streets for awhile and got addicted to drugs to deal with all the pain.
And then there's not only the euthanasia. Look at all the people who just don't believe in God, for whatever reason, or mabe have never even heard of him, and they're going to hell (supposedly), too, just for not believing! That's not what a loving God would do, right??
I just don't get it.

The standards with which you disagree are ones certain religions [principally Judaism and Christianity] claim to have been meted out by God, as recorded in the Scriptures. Scholars, moralists and others have been debating and questioning the validity of these standards for centuries so you aren't alone. People may or may not agree with the principles but the facts remain:
1. Even those who claim they believe in everything that's in the Bible actually do not adhere to all the standards. Example: Few if any obey the following: " If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well....." (Matthew 5:38-42, NIV). Furthermore, no one practices this gem from Exodus 35:2 "For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.."
2. Even within each religion, there are differences and schisms that have never been resolved much less those between believers and non believers. Consider:
"In the two millennia of its history Christianity has been divided by schism and roiled by heresy, based on doctrinal and organizational differences. Today there are three broad divisions, Roman Catholic, Orthodox Eastern, and Protestant; but within the category of Protestantism, there is a particularly large number of divergent denominations. "
3. Recent revelations have indicated those who champion the adherence to those standards the most are often the worst violators: Jim Bakker raped his secretary [Jesssica Hahn], Jimmmy Swaggert was caught soliciting prostitutes on the streets, Ted Haggard had a relationship with a male prostitute for many years and also bought illegal drugs from him, dozens if not hundreds of Catholic priests have been convicted of raping altar boys etc...
Conclusion: Do whatever your heart tells you it's the right thing. Some standards touted as from God were written down by people of faith in accordance to the beliefs of their times and are so often not practiced by anyone, not even the so called "standard bearers" of those religions. So why should you and I?

Christians believe that God created us, that he loves us no matter who we are or what we have done, and that he wants an eternal relationship with us.
We also believe that all human life is sacred and precious to God. Therefore we generally oppose abortion and euthanasia. Knowing that we believe all life is sacred, and that life begins at conception, we would be hypocrites to support killing others.
Those situations you list are difficult. But where would you begin to draw the line? We believe that all life is valuable. Who knows what that baby will grow up to be? Would the mother feel even worse after the abortion? Maybe that old man still has things to teach others (or himself)?
We generally believe it is better to draw that line on the side of all life and not make value judgements about what quality of life is better. After all, all life is equally precious to God.
As far as homosexuals go, they are no more of a sinner than anyone else is. We have all broken our relationship with God. The Bible does tell us not to practice homosexuality - but it also tells us to be loving and kind to others. Those christians who "hate" homosexuals are no better than those they accuse.

Well i guess the sentence "lower your morals to God's standard" is a blasphemy by itself... God is your creator!!!
Homosexuality, abortion & euthanasia are all matters to be judged by God, He gave us life, and brains as well, i guess that's what separate us from animals, so we have a choice; however, i know that homosexuality is something inborn, it has to do with the hormones and maybe brain chemicals, i don't know... but i don't believe that God would condemn us humans, just because of some Church's Philosophy ...
i have nothing against Homosexuality, nor euthanasia in hopeless cases, as well as abortion, and in such cases, we should use our good judgment to make the right decision.
i just wish you could praise the Lord my friend, and have faith in HIM, he is the ONLY way...

I don't feel that you think you're better then GOD I just think people don't realize that God understands more then you think or other people think as well.
There's more to God then anyone can Fathom.
He's infinity with time ,space ,change, and even with what he says.
God says he's a jealous God but he also says it's a sin to be jealous. This tells me that he can go beyond his words anytime he feels right.
He has that right he made everything the way he wanted and anything is subject to change with his word or words.
I'm just glad he allows me to stay alive still with all the bad sins I've done in life. That just shows you how understanding he actually is.
I just wish more people could understand these things.Rather then just thinking he's not flexable.

You don't have to condemn any one if you get saved ! People have condemned them selves already because of their sins.
Jam 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Your morals which you have are from God has He puts morals in us, its called the conscience
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Its horrible that people are violated, but that does give us an excuse to murder in the name of "abortion"
Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Also just because some at an old age is asking you to kill them does not justify the act of euthanasia, its still murder !, sickness & death are because the fall of man in the garden of Eden when man decieded to sin against God this is why we have it !!

Saved or lost it would not be your place to condemn anyone, even Jesus does not condemn.
Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Jhn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jhn 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Jhn 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Jhn 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
The fact that you don't see sin as sin doesn't change the fact it is what it is. You cannot subject God to your reasoning, the scriptures even tell you that.
1Cr 1:18 ¶ For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

I understand what you are saying but God doesn't say to judge anyone or to look down on anyone, he just tells us not to do it. Only God can judge us. Me personally, I was into women at one time (I am a woman), but I'm not anymore because I found God and I am a God fearing woman. I don't look down on gay people because they are human just like you and I. God wants us to love everyone. I also understand what you are saying about a girl getting pregnant from rape but if God blessed her with a baby, then it was in His will for that baby to be born. That same baby could be the next president or Jesus coming, or could discover the cure for AIDS. There's a reason for everything God does. You should accept Jesus into your heart because that's how you are saved and when Jesus comes, only those who are saved are going to heaven. You don't have to lower your standards to accept Jesus. We are all sinners in the eyes of the Lord.

You cannot be the judge. "Judge not or you yourself will be judged. Therefore relax and do not blame God for it is already written; God's standards are well defined. As for the judge on earth, he is already in his seat to pass judgment in the case of homosexuals, abortion and euthanasia with different parameters set for different cultures. Whatever be it you are not the judge and cannot pass judgment. You can only like or dislike.

I see your viewpoint. Did you ever think of the possibility that God may agree with your examples also?
I do not believe in many of the things that many religions attempt to convey about who God is.
I do not feel that many of the ideas (sins, going to hell, satin, etc) even is factual. I do not feel that there is such a thing as sins for if there was then that would mean we (humanity) is not perfect and I do not believe God creates anything but perfection.
I do not believe in the existence of hell. For why would an all loving God create an imperfection (humans) and say we (humans) have "free will" and then turn around and condemn one to a place for a form of punishing. That is not free will.
If God is all loving why would God set forth "conditions"
There is much with regards to things in religions that describe God that I feel is not factual.
I am offering some sources that may be benefical and possibily offer some insight to some things.
