Some of my friends told me they fill empty water bottles with vodka or gin, and use empty coke bottles for scotch and dark rum, then pack it in their luggage.

I tried it on my last cruise in October - no problems.

We were on a cruise ship last year where we witnessed a couple guys getting back on ship from a port we had stopped at and they had purchased a case of beer at port and carried it right onto the ship with no problem. We also seen people buy cases of coke on shore and carry it on. I suppose it could vary from cruise line to Cruise line, this was a Princess cruise line.

It may sound odd, but put mini bottles in boxes of products that most people may not want to search. For example, put some mini bottles in an enema box or a tampon box. It may be an obligatory thing to say, but ultimately, you probably want to give some love to the fine folks on the cruise ship by supporting them with tips. Regardless, have a great cruise.

We've been on 7 cruises so far, and on each cruise have brought a 1.75 ltr bottle of Jack and a 1.75 ltr bottle of Crown with us in emptied saline bottles (wife's a nurse), along with a case of cokes. We've never had them confiscated or even given any indication that the bags were searched.

Don't worry about it, we brought a bottle of rum into our cabin through our luggage and nothing happend. You can't bring it on your carry on luggage but the big luggage you drop off you have no problem. We also brought a 6 pack of 20oz. sodas for the rum and had no problem either. Remember that soda its very expensive on board unless you buy a soda card.

Try packing it in a suitcase...if you do get caught, they'll just store it for you and you can pick it up at the end of the cruise.

some let you, some don't. most do. just remember there is most likely a corkage fee if you take it into a restaurant there. so take your own corkscrew and enjoy it in your room.
