It's so weird. When I got my 2 amer. pit bull puppies at 6 weeks of age, I thought they were adorable, but on the other hand I couldn't wait for them to grow up because after all, it is not that easy to care for a puppy (just like a human baby). Well, now that my puppies are 4.5 months old (and actually acting more mature), I'm starting to miss their "baby" stage when they were only several weeks old. Every time I see picture of baby pit bulls or even my own puppies' baby pictures, I really start missing that stage, and I feel like I really want to have another puppy. I don't really know how to get over it and just accept the idea that my puppies are growing more and more every week. I can't really explain the feeling, but maybe some people out there who miss when their dogs/puppies were still babies. Especially because I use to carry my pits around with blankets and bottles when they were that small, and now I can't even hold them when I take them out for walks...

It's not uncommon to feel that way. But we need to know that every living creature has to grow up. Human parents also think back about their kids when they were younger but there's really nothing anyone can do to reverse time. However, when your pet is an adult, it does have its uniqueness that a baby dog or cat doesn't have. It's more matured and it listens to you better. And what's better than hugging your dog or cat knowing that it has spent its whole life with you and that you both understand each other better than when they were younger.

So totally normal!!! Yes I have felt that. And with people too. My gorgeous little nephew left his graceful beautiful stage from birth to age11 and became an awkward pre teen with missing teeth and big feet! I kept longing for the little baby I held or the excited 3 year old who hung on my every word and deed and had fun with no serious problems or pimples.

That is why women cluster around baby pups, people, birds baby anythings! They are adorable and so helpless. But you know what...... I looked at my handsome 28 year old nephew the other day when he hugged me and realized he is a gorgeous, wise man now!

Keep on hugging what you love no matter how it looks and it will love you back in a way you can't imagine.

I know EXACTLY how you feel and it does'nt go away.
Don't get another pup.You have your hands full with these two.And you really can't take attention away from them at this stage.Just enjoy them every chance you have cos at their age now they're like a 2yr.old.The worlds a great big place and they're in awe of everything they see. They're anxious to learn so start training and building their self-esteem.And when you really start missing puppies go-online and look at puppies for sale.I can't go to a petshop or shelter to see them as I can't walk away so I won't recommend you do it either.

Yeah that is sooo normal.. Do you have kids? We moms do the same thing with our kids.. Can't wait for them to grow more indipendant and then the next thing ya know they are 18 and bossing YOU around..lol.. And I get so sad sometimes when I look at pictures, I miss him being little:-(

This is why I love breeding so much, I LOVE puppies but I don't have to raise them;-)

I don't miss getting up in the middle of the night to take a puppy out to wee, that's for sure. In fact, if I ever get another dog, I'll get an adult dog from the shelter.

well... i also have a dog too. its a german shepard breed and absolutely adorable! maybe you should start enjoying and appreciating the time you have with your dog now, instead of regreating it latter on. at least afterall, you have spent a great time together when it is that age!
now my doggy is about 6yrs old! (human yrs) that makes it 42 dog yrs!! OMG!! he is older than me... T.T time really flies and it waits for no one. therefore you should do something fruitful together and capture the moment! for you to think back and enjoy! instead of regreting in the near future..
