Some of the best:
Hazelnut Nectar from Rogue Brewery in Newport, Oregon.
Fat Tire from New Belgium Brewery.
You can never go wrong with Guiness.
Bass Ale is one of the best mass produced beers every.
Boulevard Wheat from Boulevard Brewery
One the you can get anywhere, Sam Adams Dark Lager is very, very good.

I am a fan of the dark beers like Guinness and New Castle.
Lighter beers I like are Heifweizen wheat and a variety of Sam Adams beers.
If you like a nice hoppy beer, try some IPA's (Indian Pale Ales) Personally, I am not a fan of IPA's

I have to say that Canadian beer is the best, look for one called Moosehead. Alexander Keith's is good too. A couple of good beers that are available internationally would be Guiness, Carlsberg and at the top of the list; definitely Heineken.
