I do because it is better to have the right information posted for an answer than to have someone who doesn't really know post an answer. This is a great place for me to relax and unwind helping others when I am not at work.

I choose to answer questions listed here so that I can help those in need. If I have the answer, why not share it with someone who does not. I know what it feels like to have a burning questions, look on line, and not really find the answer that you are looking for. This site gives medical professionals, such as myself, an opportunity to answer questions directly.

im a medical student and just found this site. i think its great. i dont answer a lot of the questions because frankly there is no clear answer to some of the questions. i dont respond if someone already answered how I would have responded, and i will respond if i think someone needs to go to the doctor to make sure they arent in serious danger.

I tend to solely answer questions related to health or medication, although I have answered other questions totally unrelated if I have some knowledge about the topic. The one thing that upsets me about the health questions are the answers that are incorrect and even dangerous.

I'm not a doctor, but I try to answer/help etc when I do get on here. I like helping people. It's the whole reason I went into the field of medicine.

I just started using this, but yes to a point. If something is serious, the person needs to be seen, if it is something non-emergent, like how to cure jock itch, I will answer. Its kind of dangerous to answer the serious ones, because there is no way for me to know FOR SURE what is wrong with someone unless I see them and assess them.
