dvd burning?

Question

I'm having major probs trying to burn dvd's, don't have a clue what i'm doing.... I have dvd shrink 3.2, dvd decrypter, imgburn, nero startsmart, all on my comp, i have managed to burn a couple of dvds onto my harddrive but now can't get them off onto a dvd.... have i got the right programs, should i have something else?

For a newbie, you're off to a good start....

dvd shrink is a fairly simple interface which does a halfway decent job copying older titles. I've always used this program in tandem with Nero. I don't believe it has it's own burning engine. If you have nero installed, it will recognize that and load the nero burning engine automatically when you initiate the backup dvd command.

You will run into issues with the latest encryptions though. If you run into errors than most likely you'll need to rip it with an updated program first.

dvd decrypter might also be a dated application. I use dvdfab decrypter and dvdfab platinum edition. they release updates regularly to keep pace and it's popular enough to find cracks on p2p. You can either rip the vobs to the hardrive and open the files with shrink, or just run a straight copy if you have platinum edition. (dvdfab platinum has it's own burning engine included but you still have to option to use the nero engine in the prefrences)

If you have them on your hard drive try opening them with DVD Shrink if they open with DVD shrink select burn and it should burn. If you can't open them with dvd shrink then you wont be able to burn them. So DVD's will let you reun them with dvd decrypter but will not open in shrink. There is another program called ripit4me it uses decrypter, shrink and nero. I have found it to be the most sucessful as it is able to remove new protection that is unable to be removed with decrypter. It removes unreferenced material and processes VTS after ripping. Last suggestion is to check your neuo program and make sure you have the right device chosen. Neuro also has an immage recorder make sure that your DVD Write drive is selected. For the clueless. The word ripping is when you Rip a movie to your DVD. The program rips the copyright protection off so you can burn the DVD movie. So there are some movies that you will not be able to burn, you need to get a program that rips them then. Thought I let you know. Some people still get it confused. 321 studios got slam dunked cuz they were selling their DVD X Copy Platinum, the ripper version, which was able to copy ANY movies. They do see one version now but it is not the ripper. They can not make them no more.

you can use dvd shrink to rip and compress to a single dvd size. dvd decrypter can also rip and burn an iso file. imgburn is basically dvd decrypter withough the ripping software. Nero can burn either an image or the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files necessary to create a video DVD. Basically you have all the software you need.

burning is putting from dvd to your comp. And when you put it from a dvd to your comp it is downloading or ripping.
you have the right programs. Nero should do it all.
