I have bipolar and being kinda down lately I have been tending towards suicidal thoughts. I guess what I want to know is when someone gets these thoughts do they almost obsess about it? I feel like it is my own and I carry it with me everywhere. My friend my crack a joke and I laugh but then the voice reminds me oh but you have to kill yourself soon remember. Its like it wont let me be happy. I dont get why it has to be so focused when I cant even do that with any other aspect of my life. All the pain inside really throws me off and things seemlike they will be turned upside down again. I ramble but let me know if you have had a similiar experience or advice. Thanks.

I have a very similar problem. When you feel suicidal please talk to someone that you trust. A friend, neighbor, a doctor. Anyone. Something that helped me over the Christmas holiday (when I was really considering killing myself), was to email The Samaritans at:

Also go to this site, it really helped me to see that I'm not alone.

I have a brother with bipolar and he has had suicidal thoughts. i think that the suicidal thoughts can become obsess. I think that u need to seek professional help and talk to someone that makes u feel good about urself and u can talk freely to them.

You are not alone and your feelings have been experienced by others. Do not let the suicidal thoughts take over your mind. Stay positive, pray hard, stay busy being helpful and successful.
God bless you.

Yes when you are suicidal you obsess over it. You really need to talk to someone to work out what you are feeling. Get on some med's to. My husband is bi polar and sleeps alot when he is low. There are hot lines to call to get help. Good luck!

Look for positive things.

There are a lot out there.

Life is a challenge. And seeing how you look into your self, see if you can find some thing in there that you can do to make life better.
